Fishing
Situated on the Qaloqalo Salt River enjoying all tide access
to the lake and the Koro Sea, the river entrance and Benau Lagoon. All just minutes away by 14 foot runabout with a 9.8 h.p.Tohatsu outboard motor. Anglers can experience trolling,popping, and bottom fishing.The lake is perfect for fly fishing. Mangrove Jacks, barracudas, sailfish, Trevaly, yellow fin tuna and reef fish are all caught here.
Experienced guide and life jackets are provided.

Kayaking
Kayak  along the Qaloqalo River past mangrove
forests to the
beautiful Salt Lake.
The Lake covers an area of
about 100 acres.
The ancestral home of Dakuwaga the
Sea God.
Fed by the ocean tides the lake is an inland sea
perfect for
kayaking and fishing.
Retrace the steps of the
ancient Fijians who used the river
as a short cut to the
fabulous Natewa Bay.
See where they dragged their canoes over the hill to Natewa,
the largest bay in the South Pacific.

FREE use of single kayaks for our guests.

Snorkeling
Trips to beautiful Benau Lagoon, the reef and the
Qaloqalo river passage are a delight.
Turtles,
dolphins and reef sharks are often seen.
Soft and
hard corals and schools of colorful fish
abound in the warm turquoise waters.

Boat Hire
Fiji $42 per hour with a $84 minimum charge
.
We recommend you bring your own reef shoes and
snorkeling gear as we have a limited supply.

Hiking
There are many lovely walks. A favorite is
to Natewa Bay.
About a 1 hour walk along a quiet country
lane.
The road takes you past coconut plantations and
tropical bush.
At Natewa Bay you can snorkel off the shore.

ake a picnic and enjoy the wonderful scenery.

Natewa Bay spinner dolphin trip.
See the great Natewa Bay the largest in the South Pacific.
There are 2 pods of spinner dolphins in the bay and we hire
a local Fijian from a village in the bay to take guests out.
Its a beautiful bay and you can stop for a beach picnic
and go remote snorkeling.

Scuba Diving

Koro Sun Dive is a 15 minute drive away.
They offer dive courses, day and night dives and come
 highly recommended by our guests.

Village Visits and Church Service.
Our local community are Gilbertese, Banaban, Indian and Fijian.
You are welcome to attend a church service on Sundays
and enjoy the wonderful singing.
The local people are very friendly and enjoy meeting visitors.

Salt Lake Lodge is where you can enjoy swimming,
snorkeling, kayaking and fishing.
You can throw in a line from the pontoon or go out in the boat.
Kayak up to the lake and paddle around the little island in the
middle before heading back past mangrove forest
and lush tropical vegetation.
You could well be the only people there.
Fish and bird life thrive in this slice of paradise.
