Savusavu is a quaint seasideTown with a colonial history situated on the island of Vanua Levu which is less populated and less developed than Viti Levu.
The town has thermal springs and the locals still cook in the bubbling pools near the primary school behind the Morris Hedstrum Supermarket.
There are a variety of shops, several food markets, a large vegetable and fish market, crafts, textiles and souvenirs. There are banks, a post office, cafes and restaurants, broad band Internet and travel agents.
The Yacht club and the old Planters club are great places for a cool drink. There is a very good liquor shop next to the Morris Hedstrum supermarket in the Webster Building overlooking the sea. They sell some delicatessen items and have a good wine selection. There is also a Medical Centre with a private doctor and a chemist/dispensary on the small road which leads to the Hot Springs Hotel...just before the driveway to the Hotel on the left You will find most things you need for your holiday and very friendly people in Savusavu Town.
