At the end of Salt Lake Road is the great Natewa Bay, the largest in the South Pacific. Here you can visit the spinner dolphins, do some remote snorkeling and picnic on a deserted beach.

Savusavu is a quaint Town with a colonial history situated on the island of Vanua Levu which is less populated and less developed than Viti Levu. The town has thermal springs and the locals still cook in the bubbling pools near the primary school behind the Morris Hedstrum Supermarket.
There are a variety of shops, several food markets, a large vegetable and fish market,crafts,textiles and souvenirs.There are banks, a post office, cafes and restaurants, broad band Internet and travel agents.The Yacht club and the old Planters club are great places for a cool drink.There is a very good liquor shop next to the Morris Hedstrum supermarket in the Webster Building overlooking the sea.They sell some delicatessen items and have a good wine selection.There is also a private doctor and a small chemist at the back.
