Eco conscious Travellers can enjoy guilt free living at King fisher beach house.
Environmental responsibility encourages us to offer quality and service with a minimal impact on our unique environment.
Venture off the beaten path and experience one of Fiji's most impressive regions from this low impact, laid back stylish eco accommodation.
The Beach house is perched on the edge of the Qaloqalo River literally meaning swimming river. This wonderful salt waterway feeds Fiji's Salt Lake from the waters of the Koro Sea. The Magic location inspires us to monitor the environmental performance of the house. Solar powered water heating,LED lighting and energy efficient refrigeration reduces energy consumption. Water supply is pure rainwater catchment . Eco toilets ensure reduced water use and zero pollution. Organic gardening methods are adopted and coconuts, root crops, herbs and fresh fruit from the 5 acre spray free property can be sampled. Free range chickens eat the food waste and other rubbish is recycled and buried.
Spectacular ways to experience the river, reef, rainforest, lake lagoon and sea include hiking, kayaking, tubing, snorkeling, fishing, swimming, birdwatching, spinner dolphin trips, remote snorkeling and village and church visits.
We encourage people to participate by being aware of power consumption by turning off unneeded lights. Care and consideration is appreciated with water usage linen use and rubbish disposal.
The Lodge has been designed by Andrew and Sonja. Andrew has created everything with local materials and local labour. A lot of the furniture and fittings are handcrafted from fallen trees from the property. We look forward to sharing this wonderful slice of Paradise.
